Street Cinema is the 1998 album from Sporty Thievz. It came out via RuffHouse, Sony and Columbia and is the record that most defines the group’s reputation.

King Kirk chose storytelling as the group’s distinguishing feature. Rather than simply stacking verses over beats, the songs unfold like scenes in a film, with characters, settings and twists. That cinematic approach inspired the title.
The album is described by the group as a classic of the underground. Years later, King Kirk announced two follow-ups: a solo concept, Street Cinema 1.5, and a group sequel, Street Cinema 2. Later mixtapes such as Speak Ya Mind pt. 1 continued the cinematic wording in their subtitles.
The old site once promoted a free-download post about the album. This archive does not offer files, so listen through legitimate services where available.
